Dextrose or corn sugar is the traditional sugar used in home-brewing. Most beer kits require 1 kilogram.
Corn sugar is easy to add and easy to ferment. 100 grams of dextrose will raise the Specific Gravity of 1 litre of must or wort by 30 points. For example 100 grams in litre will raise the Specific Gravity from 1.060 to 1.090.
